Why Tai Chi

Scientific research shows that Tai Chi can not only help ease arthritis pain and increase joint flexibility, but also significantly improves physical and mental health through slow, gentle movements connected to breathing. Both the Arthritis Foundation and the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) recommend Tai Chi for arthritis and fall prevention. It’s even more effective for healing since anyone can do it. It’s much more effective for healing than other types of physical activities, due to the low impact movements that can help ease pain in joints, while strengthening muscles that support the body, as we heal ourselves from injuries or illness. The benefits of regular practice of Tai Chi are:

  • Overall Well-Being - The integration of mind and body improves the flow of Qi, the energy force coursing through the body, improving the life markers in healthy and chronically ill people

  • Mood - Combat stress and anxiety by replacing anxiety -inducing thoughts with focus attention and introspection. Stress is known to cause sleep problems. Through the practice of Tai Chi and Qigong you will reduce stress which will improve sleep. Better quality sleep is known to improve mood.
